Automobiles in Germany's City Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers mentioned they were contacted by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Police then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say early analysis indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are currently not aware of any injuries in association with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for tips.

A senior representative said the incident left him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
